Marbella

Say ‘Marbella’ and most will think of an exclusive world of upscale designer boutiques, lavish yachts, and rich oil sheiks – who aerate their recreational Ferraries and frolic in luxury and extravagant abundance.

There could be something to it because Marbella definitely has its exclusive offers. Not least in the area of the ‘Golden Mile’, along the beach west of the city, is filled with luxurious villas and penthouse apartments, exclusive clubs, and fine dining. This is truly a piece of the exclusive and virtually brilliant Marbella, stretching all the way to the even more lavish marina ‘Puerto Banús’.

But Marbella is more than that. Much more. The beautiful Mediterranean city, situated at the foot of the stunning ‘Sierra Blanca mountains, also has a completely different face: a Marbella that welcomes ordinary guests and tourists to a charming Mediterranean town with a cosmopolitan touch that has so much to offer the visitor – whether you are traveling as a couple, as a family or have come here to stay.

Kilometers of clean and sandy beaches are open to everyone and attract all types of tourists to the area. The seafront promenade – ‘Paseo Marítimo’ – is a great place to stroll along the sea, soak up the atmosphere – or enjoy the small beach bars and ‘chiringuitos’. Marbella’s Old Town – ‘Casco Antiguo’ – surprises most, with its cozy and winding streets, beautiful flower arrangements, and intimate Andalusian ambiance.

If you are traveling as a family, there are plenty of offers for the little ones. For example, at ‘Funny Beach’, which offers go-cart tracks, trampoline jumping, electric cars, and other fun activities – as well as the adventure park ‘Aventura Amazonia’ in Elviria, where you can sway through the forest in fun and adventurous zip lines. Marbella is for the whole family, and it is quite easy to find lovely and practical apartments and holiday homes of all sizes.

Marbella has several beautiful parks and squares – ‘plazas’ – offering a peaceful space in the shade on hot summer days, or cultural activities all year round. Here you will find theaters, cinemas, markets, fine museums and, not least, the great international ‘Starlite Festival’ which hosts some of the world’s most famous musical names each year, in the large, open amphitheater just north of the city.

Shopping enthusiasts will find small and exclusive shops, one does not find anywhere else on the coast. The city’s multicultural and cosmopolitan atmosphere makes it possible to find all kinds of good gastronomy and exciting dining experiences everywhere you go – and in all price ranges. There is of course also a wide range of cafes, bars and nightlife for those who want to go out and get a feel of the vibrant city life.

So you can choose to let the prejudices about the city fall to the ground, and turn it all a little upside down: Marbella is for everyone and what you look for – you shall find in this beautiful, vibrant and varied city. And that goes whether you are an oil sheik from Oman, a dentist from Derbyshire – or a butcher from Birmingham.

Welcome to Marbella – ‘Bienvenidos a Marbella‘.
